Description: Photograph of a man standing in the desert next to a donkey. The donkey has a saddle on and has thick white fur. The man is wearing a dark colored, long sleeve shirt with a wide brim hat and wide leg pants. The desert around them has sparse patches of grass and has flat land. There is a structure standing behind the donkey in the desert and there are mountains in the background of the image.

[Two donkeys carrying cargo]

Description: Photograph of two donkeys hauling water bottles in Juarez, Mexico. Byrd, Jr. took the photo while working just south of the Rio Grande River, and the water was presumably for the construction workers. The donkeys are both carrying crates that are filled with glass bottles. They are standing in front of a building that has multiple doors and is made of stone. There is a raised, stone sidewalk in front of the building and the rightmost donkey has his front legs on this sidewalk.
