[Umstead Teahouse #4]

Description: Photograph of the Mary K. Umstead Teahouse in the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The teahouse sits over the garden pond, held by stilts in the water, and features a wooden balcony, shuttered shoji screen doors, and a pagoda-style roof. Large pink flower bushes and tall grasses sit on the edge of the pond, and koi fish are faintly visible swimming within. [Japanese Garden Stepping Stone Construction]

Description: Photograph of completed stepping stones in the concrete pond of the Fort Worth Japanese Garden. The stones, which span from one end of the pond to another in a curved path, are made of porous concrete and rise several feet from the base of the pond, which is only filled with several inches of stagnant water.
