Narrative by Junebug Clark: This photo was taken during the late 1930s. Hamtramck, Michigan is a small town and Polish community surrounded by the city of Detroit. Caught in the kitchen drying dishes is my father Joe Clark, HBSS. This is a very early photo of him. I know of only two or three others taken earlier in his life.
