Typed on the back of the photograph is, "Ten times a day, trains of the Texas & Pacific Line pulled into Ranger to disgorge their load of passengers who had packed the coach seats, stood in the aisles and, in some cases, ridden atop the cars".

Description: Postcard of a train wreck on the Texas and Pacific railway near Ranger, Texas. A large crowd of people examine a derailed passenger car, tilted on one side with a large gash along the front of the car. Debris is scattered across and around the tracks, including piles of broken wooden beams. Another railroad car, at right, is derailed to the right of the track.
