Handwritten at the top of the photograph is, "L. Swagerty: R.R. Station at Ranger, Tex during oil boom of 1918". Typed on the back of the photograph is, "Ten times a day, trains of the Texas & Pacific Line pulled into Ranger to disgorge their load of passengers who had packed the coach seats, stood in the aisles and, in some cases, ridden atop the cars".
