Description: Photograph of firemen battling a two-alarm fire at the 200 block of East Hickory Street. Several water hoses are being used and strewn across the ground. Description: Photograph of a fire at the Cedar Crest apartment complex with a Denton Fire Department fire engine in the foreground and an unidentified man standing on the second floor with fire and smoke in the background. The Cedar Crest apartments, now called Vendi Place, is located at 223 Avenue G. The fire was started by a student who was cooking. They put out the fire and went to class, but the flames had traveled up the vent and had gone into the attic.
