Improvement in Combined Spading, Plowing, and Stalk-Cutting Machines.

Description: Patent for an earth working machine that can be used for spading, plowing and stalk-cutting by arranging “a series of spades in a plane parallel with the axis of the machine and interposed spades in planes at right angles thereto, all attached to a reciprocating cross-bar.” (P. 2, lines [29]-[33].) The spades are adjustable in height and, it can be removed to use as a cultivator. For stalk-cutting, the plows may be removed. Illustration is included.

Description: Patent for an inexpensive and simple plow attachment meant to convert the single foot plow stock into a double shovel plow or a gang plow. The attachment is adjustable in order to "straddle the rows to be cultivated; and finally, means for adjusting the standards of the plow whereby the same are adapted to run at any desired depth" (lines 16-20).

Description: Patent for an improved plow which is attached in the usual manner to the standard of a suitable beam, when the device is used for cultivating young crops, the fender is place in position and will serve to prevent the loose, dirt from tumbling over upon the growing plants.
