Description: Profile of Reverend Robert Cannon Horn, born in Middle Tennessee in 1844. Rev. Horn was raised in Collin County, Texas, and traveled between Texas and Tennessee for much of his life. He attended Mt. Pleasant High School before studying English, Latin, and Greek at Kentucky University in 1867. Horn entered the Christian ministry in 1868, and after teaching for 7 years, he spent most of the remainder of his life preaching and organizing churches across North and North-Central Texas. Description: Newspaper clipping containing several letters to the editor published in a Waco newspaper, starting with a poem from " Portfolio of a Deceased Confederate Soldier " and commentary providing insight on the soldier's life, family, property, and death. Other letters and articles discuss horse thieves that were shot, the Election Law that had recently been passed on the front, with text on the back describing recent events and anecdotes and bounties, with advertisements.
