Description: Huge clouds of black smoke rise from the Texas City port area after the 1947 Texas City Disaster. This picture appears to have been taken from a spot above the Galveston Port Area near the grain elevator. Two large ships, one of which is a cargo ship, are visible in front of a large building on stilts near the grain elevator and in front of a multi-storied warehouse.
