Description: A woman, who appears to be Helen Edmunds Moore, stands with her arms around two other young women near a large beam. In the background is a tower structure and a long, one-story commercial building. On the back of the photograph is written: "Taken when first pile was driven for the Texas Sugar Refinery - March 13, '23." In the lower right hand corner of the photograph is written the number "17.".

[Judy Garland in Mineral Wells]

Description: This picture, found on page 161 of "Time Was..." by A. F. Weaver, identifies the man selling a money order to Judy Garland in the Old Post Office (on NE 2nd Street) as D. C. Harris. The man on the right is identified as W. A. Ross. It has since [2102] been determined that the reason for Miss Garland's presence in the post Office was to lead a procession of children there in order to purchase Defense Stamps.

First City Hall of Niles City

Description: First City Hall of Niles City. Niles City, TX was incorporated in Feb., 1911. This building was located on T.E. Carson's property, just north of what would be later the new city hall. The Town Council met there from April 1911 to the early part of 1912.

[First public water tower]

Description: Dan Davis and Charlie Henderson owned and operated the first public water utility and electric power plant in Sanger. This water tank on wooden platform and tower, with work sheds and picket fence in foreground was built in 1906. It was on the south east corner of 4th and Locust Streets.
