[Three Soldiers Standing by a Sign for Austria]

Description: Photograph of William Hahn and two other uniformed U.S. Army soldiers standing in front of a sign that says "You are now entering Austria thru the courtesy of the VI U.S. Corps," "Salerno, Volturno, Anzio, Rome, S. France, Alsace, Rhine, Danube," and "6 Germany." The sign is more than twice as tall as the soldiers and is located at the bottom of a hill. Cronin discusses his time as a B-24 crewmember stationed at Cerignola, Italy, the kinds of missions flown, his being shot down over Hungary and captured by the German Army, and his experiences in captivity at Vienna, Frankfurt, and Stalag Luft #1 near Barth in Western Pommerania.
