Planter.

Description: Patent for improvements in planters by having two hoppers C and D attached on each side of the concave wheel. A third and smaller hopper E can be interchanged with hopper C when planting seeds or grains. Hopper D is mainly for planting fertilizer. The bottom of hoppers C and D are provided with slides for the purpose of keeping the fertilizer, grain or seeds from banking up. Illustration is included.

Calf Weaner.

Description: Patent for a new and improved calf weaner. This design consists in "a strap, ring, or belt surrounding the muzzle of the calf or other animal, and attached permanently by means of head-stall straps or other suitable-devices, the muzzle-ring being provided with radiating blunt-pointed wires of suitable length, whereby the calf is prevented from reaching the teat, and the mother, being irritated or titillated by the projecting wires, repulses the attempts of the animal to suckle" (lines 18-27).
