Description: Patent for a new and improved drier. This design "relates to improvements in driers for lumber . . . and the objects of [the] improvement are to provide, with stackless arches having a closed top and openings in the side, a series of spark-arresting plates located opposite said openings, to deflect downward all the sparks that may escape through said openings, and thereby secure perfect safety in the use of that class of driers" (lines 9-22).

Automatic Electric Alarm.

Description: Patent for an automatic electric alarm meant to be hooked up to an automatic dry-pipe sprinkler system, and protects against fire. The alarm goes off when the air in the sprinkler pipes falls below a predetermined level. This invention also signals an alert when there is a leak in the pipes, and is an improvement on the circuit-wires for similar alarms.
