Description: Set of 11 wooden blocks, hand-painted, which make up the bodies of Tommy the soldier and his horse Dobbin. Contained in wooden box with sliding lid, lid with colored illustration of the blocks and title; underside of lid with colored illustration showing 5 different ways the blocks can be arranged to make Tommy & Dobbin in different poses. Affixed to inside bottom of case is a second colored illustration showing 6 more poses.

[Stock and die]

Description: The stock of the die is rectangular shaped with two long handles that come out opposite sides. One handle is part of the rectangle while the other screws on to tighten or loosen the five dies inside the stock. The rectangular part of the stock has a 10.5 cm X 2.7 cm rectangular opening into which the dies fit. On the dies are several engraved numbers. Handle has a carved leaf pattern on one side with three brass bolts: top two are 1.2 cm in diameter and have no surface decoration, bottom bolt is 2.2 cm in diameter and is stamped with an eagle and with "Warranted / Pat. Dec. 27, 1887 / Superior"

Long, demi-gigot sleeves with 2-2/2" ruffle of self as cuffs. Center front hook & eye closure. Lined in mercerized cotton. B: Skirt of same fabric. Full-length with bustle back. Two rows of ruffles at hem; 22" waist. Hook & eye closure at center back on narrow waistband. Unlined.
