[Nishi-Nippon All Stars flag]

Description: Photograph of a flag from the Bob Kap collection, held by UNT Special Collections. It is from the game between the Dallas Tornado team and the Nishi-Nippon All Stars team. The flag is made from a red cloth material and has yellow and white lettering. There are also patches on the side of the American and Japanese flags and a soccer ball. There are also four small white and red ribbons on the side of it.

Evening dress

Description: Evening dress/ballgown of black with white polka dots taffeta. Full length, slightly flared skirt with spaghetti strap shoulders. Bodice of six layers of black and matching polka dot pleated ruffles. Under structure of black taffeta is straight with 16" added gathered ruffle at hemline to give fullness to dress. Designer's label at left side seam: "(Japanese characters) / Hanae Mori" Size "8" tag attached to base of designer label. Retailer's label at left side seam: "Neiman-Marcus"

[Medal from game in Japan]

Description: Photographs of a badge received in Japan from the Bob Kap Collection, held by UNT Special Collections. In the first photo the front of the badge is visible. It has the US and Japanese flags at the top and two figures playing soccer beneath them. In the second photo the back of the badge is visible. At the top is Japanese writing followed by English that reads "Soccer Friendly Match, 1967.12.26, Nagai Stadium". It is a silver color with aging areas around the edges.

[U.S. Army Men Talking Through Train Window]

Description: Photograph of two men interacting from the window of a train car. On the left stands a man in a dark double pocketed uniform jacket with an Army technician patch on the arm and sunglasses. He is resting his forearm on the train window from the outside. [Japanese Garden Entrance Gate]

Description: Photograph of the entrance gate to the Japanese Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The gate resembles traditional Japanese entry gates and has tall wooden doors, a upper level with a fenced balcony and shoji screens, and a tiled pagoda-like roof. Banners hang from the balcony's fences and are posted in front of the gate, reading "WELCOME", "KONNICHIWA", and "good day" in Japanese. The entry gate is flanked on both ends with walls.
