Description: Letter from Sayles and Sayles to Wayne Somerville delivering a disclaimer filed by Sayles' mother in a suit. Sayles asks for confirmation that no costs will be charged against his mother. A handwritten note from Vivian Mass, Tax collector, is written on the bottom of the letter: "The suit has been dismissed as to - Hattie M. Sayles - the disclaimer was filed and put with the papers in the case, therefore we will take no judgment as to said party."

Description: Letter from E. D. Bloxsom to Sayles, Sayles, & Sayles discussing statements being sent to the tax collector of Hardin County showing taxes due for the years 1914 and 1915. The amount of taxes indicate that the valuation of land was much higher than expected. Since the timber was cut long ago it is stated no taxes can be made on anything but the land itself.
